Celebrating Summer

We often say 'I do not know where the last few days, weeks, months have gone'. This is such a true expression and one which can be applied to me this year without doubt!

2019 has been an eventful year so far both in my personal life and work life, in a good way, with more to follow.

I am already putting dates in my diary for next year for workshops and demonstrations for different art groups in the area and this is great because I get to meet lots of new people.

Since the start of the year lots of great courses and individual lessons have taken place at the studio and I never fail to be inspired by the confidence that develops in people when they are given encouragement to express themselves and develop their own ideas based on what has been demonstrated.

One group in particular is joining me in exhibiting work for the flower festival and art exhibition at the lovely church of Elmley Castle. We have mooted the idea of exhibiting their work and so for the first time they are going to take that step. I am totally confident that they will be pleased with the outcome.

I continue to experiment with pushing the boundaries of mixed media and am currently inspired by the summer landscape with its colourful flowers, changing hillsides and wild meadows.

To this effect I am hoping to run some workshops in July and August and inspire others to experiment and interpret.

Details of the flower festival and new course are on the events diary page now. So please come along to the exhibition or sign up to a course as places go quickly.

Just a few little summer sketches which I have been doing recently. Hope you like them.
